The Carpenter

I'm not sure when I wrote this... found it just now and I want to keep it.

Today I will build a castle entirely of stone
In which we will rule upon our respectable thrown
Today I will build a bridge of mahogany wood
To fill in the cracks between where we both stood
Today I will build a fire fueled by passion and fight
In which we can use against the cold from the night
Today I will build a cage made entirely of bone
To give all our demons a new place to wone
Today I will build a staircase made of conquests and goals
In which we can gain better views of our souls
Today I will build a house entirely of love
To fill in with our hearts and things we dream of
Today I will build on our lives that we share
But I simply cannot build it without having you there
